Bee food 2.5kg - Box of 5 pcs. Apifonda

  • Bee food 2.5kg - Box of 5 pcs. Apifonda which contains refined sugar (pure sugar without residues of foreign substances), fructose, glucose, maltose, smaller quantities of other sugars and only 8% water.
  • Apifonda consists of 2/3 microcrystalline refined sugar and 1/3 dissolved.
  • In addition to sugars, this mixture also contains the ENZYME INVERTASE in small quantities, which is also present in the body of the bee.
  • This ENZYME causes the sugar to break down regardless of temperature. Due to this the Apifonda paste always remains soft.
  • Due to the microcrystalline structure (1/10 of the size of powdered sugar crystals) and the fact that the crystals are surrounded by a thin layer of syrup, it is taken directly from the bee's mouth without the crystals having to melt first.
  • The composition of Apifonda is ideal. It has been selected based on the nutritional needs of the bee and does not contain dextrins.

When to feed Apifonda:

a) Winter

  • The effects of the winter feeding of bees with Apifonda are evident in the increase of the swarm population and in the higher honey yield next year.
  • The special composition of Apifonda does not allow the crystallization of winter stocks created by the bee in its cells.
  • Especially for the climatic conditions of Greece, Apifonda can be used much better throughout the year. It is fully digestible and does not create feces. This avoids dysentery.

b) Spring

  • Due to its easy intake and easy metabolism, Apifonda in the bee organism increases fertility and the degree of incubation, resulting in an increase in the bee population and in better exploitation of the flowering period.

c) Whenever there is a flowering gap

  • The ease of determining the amount of Apifonda needed for nutrition in periods of reduced or complete lack of flowering. Reduces the risk of deteriorating honey quality from sugar deposits.
  • Effect on lifespan
  • Apifonda has been shown to extend the life span of bees as shown in the diagram.
  • (See related research on the effects of Apifonda on the life time of bees by Dr. MAUZ. ERLANGEN Germany 1981).
