ANEL soft propolis collection screen with feeding holes (grey), LANGSTROTH/DADANT 10 feed holes

ANEL's gray propolis collection screen is softer and more flexible than the corresponding brown screen. As a result, the propolis is very easily extracted even by hand and does not need freezing. The ideal detachment temperature is 17-20°C.
But be careful not to put it in the freezer because, being softer, if it hardens in the freezer and is pressed, it may break.

  • The new ANEL propolis collection screen has holes which you can open and place solid food on top (sugar dough, vanilla etc.). In this way bees collect propolis. The walls of the holes also hold the center of the screen up so that it does not bend from the weight in the center. So the bees fill the whole sieve evenly.
  • The propolis collection screens are placed on the last floor and under the lid. There should be a gap above the propolis collection screen to create a draft, which the bees try to stop by putting propolis on the screen. To maintain the distance you can use the two built-in spacers on the side of the screen which fold up.
  • The screen can be filled with 60g to 80g of propolis within 10-15 days. Usually their application is spring and autumn. A good year can give you 400gr of propolis per hive. All these figures are indicative and depend on the bee, the breed of bee, the flora of the place and the season.
  • Dimensions: 420x510mm
  • Blank dimensions: 20.5x2.5mm
  • Weight: 0.264kg
  • Material: Soft Polyethylene (PE), suitable for food.
